Slips: Deadline for Removal of Watercraft and Associated Rigging

Removal by Member. All mooring lines and associated rigging, center cables, and dock boxes must be removed the day before the Fall Slip Closing Work Party, at which time the docks are closed. The Club may impose a minimum fine of $100 for failure to comply.

All wave boards and bumper posts and any other appendages attached to the finger piers that extend below a line established by the bottom of the pier stringers, and all attachments to the center piling must also be removed before the Fall Slip Closing Work Party, or the Club may impose a minimum fine of $100.00.

Materials not timely removed will be removed and disposed of by the Slip Committee. The Slip Committee reserves the right to determine the method of removal and disposal.

Social Activities

PartyThe restaurant is open every Friday for dinner.  

The Entertainment Committee hosts various parties, including:

  • Jazz Night
  • Mardi Gras
  • Kentucky Derby
  • Review of the Fleet
  • Corn Roast
  • Oktoberfest
  • New Year's Eve

and many other, less formal, events throughout the year.

Sailing and Racing

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

Powerboating

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.  

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.

Juniors

KaszubeCupSSYC offers sailing lessons and a year-round program for children ages 8 - 18.  We offer a six-week series of lessons in Opti's, 420's and Lasers.  Our juniors attend a number of regattas throughout the summer, and host one of thelargest regattas on Lake Michigan, the Kaszube Cup.
