The SSYC Junior Foundation Presents Wally Cross from Quantum Sails in
Prepare to Win: All the Ingredients Needed to Win Now
Wally has been professionally sailing for over 35 years and has learned that “with great preparation, you can almost win the race before it starts.” On Wednesday the 29th of March at 6pm central Wally will outline his approach to prepare for the most important race of your summer.
Come join us in the dining room on March 29th at 6pm while the Junior foundation brings Wally to you live, via Zoom, for this Must See event for sail racers. If you want to gain an advantage on the course, we’ll see you there.
A $10 (or more) donation the Junior foundation is appreciated and accepted at the event.
Social Activities
The restaurant is open every Friday for dinner.
The Entertainment Committee hosts various parties, including:
- Jazz Night
- Mardi Gras
- Kentucky Derby
- Review of the Fleet
- Corn Roast
- Oktoberfest
- New Year's Eve
and many other, less formal, events throughout the year.
Sailing and Racing
If you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets. The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays. Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays. And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

Powerboating
Our power boaters are active fishermen. An annual fishing contest is held in July.
In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.

Juniors
SSYC offers sailing lessons and a year-round program for children ages 8 - 18. We offer a six-week series of lessons in Opti's, 420's and Lasers. Our juniors attend a number of regattas throughout the summer, and host one of thelargest regattas on Lake Michigan, the Kaszube Cup.
