Join the membership committee to discuss ideas for attracting new members to the club, including the idea of adding a family membership!
Agenda:
1) Hear ideas to attract new members with personalized promotion to people that are inclined to join in spite of our reduction in social activities: fisherman, sailors, neighbors looking for a safe place
2) Hear your ideas to attract more members
3) Discuss Family membership: Goal - more welcoming for both partners, increase club participation by giving either partner membership status
4) Assign action items to volunteers
We will spend approximately 15 minutes on each topic and everyone should come prepared to offer ideas concisely to respect everyone's time. This meeting is intended to gather ideas to investigate further.
Please email Becky Archibald at
Becky would love to receive your emailed ideas in advance, even if you're not able to attend.

Sailing and Racing
If you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets. The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays. Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays. And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.
You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here. And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.
Powerboating
Our power boaters are active fishermen. An annual fishing contest is held in July.
In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.

Juniors
SSYC offers sailing lessons and a year-round program for children ages 8 - 18. We offer a six-week series of lessons in Opti's, 420's and Lasers. Our juniors attend a number of regattas throughout the summer, and host one of thelargest regattas on Lake Michigan, the Kaszube Cup.
