Job Description

South Shore Yacht Club looking for a skilled Cook to prepare meals for our restaurant and bar customers. We are open 7 days a week with both AM and PM shifts. The ideal candidate would have a good fundamental cooking background, be proficient in knife work, and the ability to work diligently without supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking by cutting, chopping , mixing and preparing sauces
  • Cook food by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to recipes and standards
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Maintain cleanliness and keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly and meet temperature requirements
  • Completes prep work and side work to chef's specifications
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Skills
  • In depth knowledge of restaurant practices and procedures
  • Experience with various cooking methods, ingredients and equipment
  • Experience in using knives, cookware and bakeware
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
