A Great Time, With More to Come
By Vince Verhasselt, Director
Another year has come and gone. New Years' Eve lived up to SSYC's reputation for throwing great parties. The evening started with some delicious appetizers followed by a fantastic meal from Chef Sam and his team. The band (Usual Suspects) played a great mix of music from the '70s to '80s. Everyone had a wonderful time. It was an exciting way to welcome in 2015.
On Jan. 3 it was time to take the Christmas decorations down. I was disappointed by the low turnout. The only help we had was Jim Peterson, Pat Nora and me. We all enjoy the decorations to make the club look festive. But we needed help taking the decorations down as well.
The entertainment committee is starting 2015 off with our first event in January. The Jack Frost party will be held on Saturday Jan. 24. This is going to be a lot of fun, starting off with a hearty meal, followed by a night of dancing. Look for more details to follow. If you're interested in getting involved, the committee always new members to help out with party planning.
