graubner george 2014By the time this article has been published, Sam & I will be on our way for our Italian Vacation.  I’m taking my South Shore ID with hopes of visiting some Yacht Clubs in Italy and actually get in! Think they’ll have reciprocity?

At this point in our boating year we are winding down and thinking about putting our boats away.  This season sure flew by!  It’s hard to think about the season coming to an end.  However, we have one more highlight of the year which is the Power Boater’s Ball!  Currently, I’m in the planning stages of the Power Boater’s Ball which is November 1st.  So mark your calendar and plan on attending a fun filled evening with a great menu!  Chef Sam and I put our heads together and are serving the choice of Filet Mignon or Chicken Saltimbocca, peppered Green Beans with Bacon, roasted Fingerling potatoes, bread basket, a complimentary glass of wine, and dessert.  We will also have an Appetizer table.  The cost to attend the Ball is $35.00/person. The band, “Bobby Way,” has been booked.  And I have ordered some fantastic gifts for those who have captained our events this year and also for those that assisted!  We couldn’t have done it without you!

I have worked on the dates for Power Boater’s 2015 events, and Rick Trisco has forwarded the Sail Boater’s dates to me, so we can start arranging our 2015 Boating Year.  We will be meeting with Pat, Karen and the future entertainment Chairman with their dates to finalize a full calendar.  We hope to have all the event dates scheduled so we don’t have conflicting dates and you all can plan your 2015 Boating Season.  I encourage those that have new ideas or how we can improve on some of the long standing events, to please email me or call me; email to or 414-791-8439.  I hope to hear from a lot of you!  I plan on having a planning meeting around the first week in January to put the events to the dates with the power boaters.

We have had a successful year overall despite the weather.  Check your schedule and plan on the Power Boaters meeting October 9th to review the Power Boater’s 2014 year, plan the 2015 year and get help for the November 1st Power Boaters Ball.  We'll see you all when we get back!
