Nora Pat 2014I encourage you to check out the entertainment committee report for a line-up of upcoming events.

I would like to address an issue that has continued to be a problem for the club. The subject is garbage. As you know we all have an obligation to dispose of the waste we produce in a responsible manner. It is evident that some members are not complying. Please note the following:

The recycling center has receptacles for paper, glass & cardboard: two on the south side and two on the east side of the center. The big hydraulic dumpster is for garbage. We also have containers for anti-freeze and used oil. Please use the proper containers when disposing of waste. Placing items that are not recyclable in the wrong dumpster not only harms the environment but ultimately increases the cost of waste removal the club pays.

SSYC is one of only three yacht clubs in Wisconsin that has achieved the Certified Clean Marina Status, Let’s all do our part to maintain that status by disposing of the waste we create in a proper manner.

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

Powerboating

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
