Gale Tom 2014Kind of the official start of summer at SSYC is the Review of the Fleet.  Perhaps a touch windy, but the weather was perfect and after the Flotilla passed, we dove into three kinds of deliciously different slow cooked barbeque. Smoked brisket, pork, and our slow turned roasted pig with your choice of tangy sauce.  Plus an array of salads and cake for dessert.  Then we danced to the ultimate party band, “Dupage”.  It was a fantastic start for the Summer of Fun!

This coming Thursday is the Queen’s Cup party under the tent.  Many think it’s the best party of the year, and that would be hard to argue against.  With a backdrop of wall to wall sail boats from all over Lake Michigan rafted in the Horseshoe, the party starts off with cocktails at 5pm.  It’s followed by a buffet dinner under the tent from 6-7:30 of Pulled Pork, B.B.Q. Chicken and Smoked Beef Brisket, three salads, roasted corn, and Italian ice for dessert. Then we dance again to the music of “Our House”, a band we’ve invited back again, because they keep the crowd dancing non-stop.

And, if the tent is not your cup of tea, there is also a fantastic prime rib dinner available upstairs in the dining room.

It’s going to be a great week!

Below is the schedule for the rest of year:
June 26th (Thursday) – Queen’s Cup Party “Our House” Band
   July 19th – Karaoke
August 9th - Corn Roast “Ain’t Misbehavin” Band

December 31st – NYE “Usual Suspects” Band (Formerly Exhibit “A” from last year)

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.
