I would like to thank the slip tenants on “C” dock for mounting their dock boxes off the walk way and also for moving any other appendixes from the walk way after last month’s Compass article, this helps from a safety and operations stand point. Remember, any dock boxes that are on the newly installed brackets or mounted to the new “C” dock board extensions will be allowed to stay during the off season. Dock boxes that are not mounted on new dock box brackets, or boxes that are improperly mounted on new brackets or boards, will need to be removed and stored for the winter.
Also bear in mind that this is the last season any dock boxes will be allowed to extend 12” on the main walk way, so plan accordingly. If you plan on replacing your dock box, we recommend the standard fiberglass 4’ or 6’ wide by 2’ deep box. Please remember after this season oversized metal dock boxes will no longer be permitted. We are still working on completing the installation of brackets on “B” dock as supplies arrive.
Last winter’s unusual weather caused greater ice damage than normal. We are still in the process of repairing pilings and dock structure supports. Please notify the dock master if you notice or encounter any safety or structural hazards.
We have had some severe storms over the last week, please check that your lines are of proper size and your vessel is properly secured. This year we replaced 15 damaged safety ladders in the slips and on the horseshoe. Remember slip tenants are responsible for damage caused to their slip.
I am proud to announce we have been awarded the Clean Marina Status. Once again I would like to remind all of the members who store their boats on the grounds and those who are slip tenants to continue to use environmentally friendly products so that we can continue to be a Clean Marina.
The Committee is working on updating the slip contract so that it will be in line with other marinas in the area. All of your insurance forms must be current and a copy filed in the office with your slip contract. If you are in doubt please call the office to verify the status of your paperwork. Also slip tenants, please be aware as per the by-laws, if your club membership is suspended you will be denied access to your slip.
