The Gambling Getaway March 22nd and 23rd was a great event and again a success.   We had a few winners and of course a few losers.  We were all winners with the great accommodations, hospitality room, bus trip, movie, and meals at the hotel. I want to again thank the Tucholka’s, Dziubek’s, and Doyle’s for putting on an excellent program.

A few of us rented a car and venture around the Green Bay area and ended up at the Green Bay Yacht Club.  They were very hospitable and offered us a few drinks.  We met Scott Conrad, their Entertainment Director, and talked about our visit to the Green Bay area.  He said that we should stop by next year for lunch and drinks.  We will keep in contact with him.

We have just completed the Power Boater Wine Tasting.  This was a great success, with 94 attendees, which was up from last year.  According to those in attendance the hors d’oeuvres were exceptional, Sam and his crew did and exceptional job and the wine selections were great from Avenue Liquor.  The Bourbon tasting and wine pull were a good addition to the wine tasting event.  I need to thank the Burke’s and Bach’s for their help.

In May we start the Thursday Power Boater events, May 15th and 29th, and June 22nd we have the SSYC Dingy Cruise.  I have also started working on the SSYC/LMYA Open House, July 3rd-6th.  Please check the club calendar for other upcoming Power Boater’s events and times.

April 24th I will be having a Power Boater’s meeting starting at 7pm.  We will be discussing the afore-mentioned events and review our past events: Gambling getaway and the Wine Tasting.  We need your help.  I’m hoping that you can make it!  I need the SSYC Grill Team for the Review of the Fleet/Pig Roast, June 7th, and a May 18th event, and call me at 1-414-791-8439.   George Graubner

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
