Gale Tom 2014Well our last event was the St. Patrick’s Day party on Saturday March 15th.  The band was Jackie Brown and the Boys, who were fantastic.  We owe a great thanks to a referral from Commodore Artka for tipping us off to the band.  Thanks George.  We’re always open to tips on good bands for our many events.  We have a tight budget, but feel free to pass on any names as you all travel from event to event.

Our next event is the Disco party on April Saturday April 12th.  It follows the Wine tasting just like last year.  So come to the wine tasting and then stay around to dance the night away!  DJ and SSYC member Vince Verhasselt will do the music mix from his collection of over 5,000 songs.  Period dress is the theme, so break out your platform shoes and bell bottoms, it’s time to DANCE!

After that it’s the Kentucky Derby party on Saturday May 3rd.  The youngest member of our Entertainment Committee, Laura Wehnes is running this event and along with several special race participation events, she’ll also be holding a Ladies Hat Contest and very special Kentucky Drinks and desserts. Laura is really excited about doing this event and we're all looking forward to a couple of surprises she has promised. To keep the party going, we’re also bringing in a band at 5pm to let folks work off some of the Kentucky sprits.  It's going to be another great party, closing out our winter season of great events.

Believe or not, we're working on our first Summer party, the Review of the Fleet and pig roast.  Welcome Summer, we've really missed you!

Watch your e-mail for a couple of Karaoke nights sprinkled in between our major events on featured Saturday nights in April and May.

I’d really like to add some new members to our Entertainment committee, so if you’re looking for something fun to do, join us on Wednesday April 23rd at 7pm as we plan and create new fun for SSYC.
