Fabiszak Mel 2014The slip committee will be having a meeting to finalize the plan for the opening of the docks on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 7:00pm. The slip opening work party will be Saturday April 12, 2014 at 9:00 am. This is in preparation for the first launch on Saturday May 3, 2014. Slips may be occupied as early as April 15, 2014 per the lease agreement.

In addition to dropping wave boards and installing safety ladders we will be inspecting all docks and slips for any ice damage that may have occurred over this long and cold winter.  I have been notified by a number of members about some problems that need to be addressed during the dock work party.

As a reminder, at the slip change meeting in January you were all notified that all open slips and members that changed slips will be getting new metal dock box brackets this year and will be assessed $100.00 per set of brackets.

For the benefit of our new slip tenants I am including information from your lease to help you better understand what modifications you are allowed to make to your slip upon occupancy. Your slip lease stipulates that lessees assume liability for all lines, rigging and appurtenances attached to your dock. Lessees also assume liability for all installations and modifications done by or for members such as the installation of mooring lines, associated rigging, wave boards, steps, center piling attachments and dock boxes. Subject to the terms in the Slip License. Permits for installation of Satellite TV dish antennas or any other modification to the docks or finger piers will be considered on an individual basis and must be approved by the Slip Committee.

Center piling attachments will be permitted under the following conditions. Tires must be held in a level condition, attached to the piling by chains or cable. Carpeting or other padding material shall not be frayed and must be attached in a manner so as not to hang loose. Any other devices such as bumpers or turning wheels shall be attached in a manner so as not to damage the piling.

It has recently come to my attention that an error has occurred in the billing for the dock box brackets. The coding number for the "C" dock boards which are $50.00 plus tax is also being used to bill the metal brackets, that were added to all other docks, the cost for the metal brackets should be $100.00 plus tax. We are working on getting this error corrected and unfortunately, if you have already been billed for the brackets, you may be seeing an additional charge to reflect the correct price of the brackets.  Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

To all slip committee members, it is time to start working on the docks again. I will be contacting you to ascertain your availability for the various projects that need to be undertaken.
