Status of Lake Michigan
7:00 PM, Wednesday March 26th
Dr. J. Val Klump, PhD, JD
For years at the end of Greenfield Avenue, next to the coal piles, in a retrofitted tile factory, great scientific exploration has been conducted by incredibly gifted researchers and professors who are uncovering some of the secrets of the quality of the Great Lakes and other bodies of water. Val Klump, Senior Scientist and Director of the Great Lakes WATER Institute, is at the head of that list. While his studies and research have been featured in prominent, professional scientific publications, he makes the science available and accessible to anyone who has concerns about the water that holds up the boat. His additional background in the study of law puts an added layer of analysis to the challenges facing the world’s freshwater.
In a fast paced and understandable presentation, Dr. Klump will review the science behind the condition of Lake Michigan. And, he’ll leave you pondering some important issues.
