Gale Tom 2014Welcome to 2014 and another great “Party Year” at SSYC!  Looking back a few weeks at our New Years Eve Party,  we had one of best bands we’ve heard in a long time, “Exhibit A”.  I don’t know when we’ve had that many people dancing all night.  We will definitely have them back sometime this coming year.  Also, we were sold out for dinner.  Chef Sam and staff prepared a fabulous Surf ‘n Turf.  If you like steak and lobster, you really loved the Club’s NYE fare this year!

Speaking of Great Bands, Manager Pat Nora found one for our Chili Fest called “Blue Light Scene”.  Here’s another band we’ll be inviting back for another party this year.  When was the last time you saw attendees and dancers applaud after every song the girl singer sang?  Five different kinds of Chili with all the fix’ns added to a great night!

karaokeNext Saturday, February 1st is another Karaoke party at the Club and I’ve invited some new singers that will blow you away.  Along with songs, we’re bringing back the “Bucket of Crab legs” special.  It was so popular last time, we ran out early (sorry about that).  Not to worry though, this time we’ve tripled the order.  So come down for a cocktail and join in the fun!

snowflakeThe next “Special Party” is Saturday February 8th in the Upper Dinning room. (Reservations Required!) Brought to you by Sam and George Graubner, Lynn and Vince Verhaselt, and Donna and her ‘man servant’, Dan Danowski.  This very COOL party is called “Jack Frost”.  Cool music, HOT food, and all at a very cool price, just $10/person.  See you there!

Between the Entertainment and Power Boaters Committees, and Pat Nora’s Saturday Night Specials, there’s something going on almost every weekend at the SSYC.  It’s NOT just for summer boating any more!

The next Entertainment Committee meeting is Wednesday February 5th at 7pm.  New Members are encouraged to attend. Bring your ideas and Let the good times roll!
