Let me take this opportunity to wish all of the members a Happy New Year and I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I also want to thank all of the slip committee members and volunteers for their dedication and hard work throughout the entire year.
The Slip Committee members installed 28 new dock box brackets on slips whose members were the first to request them. I have had additional requests for brackets to be installed in the spring. If you would like to purchase new brackets, please give a note to the office, send me an e-mail, or let the dock master know in writing. If you have received new brackets and you find your fiberglass dock box exceeds six feet in width contact the slip committee for additional brackets to be installed to properly support your equipment. Remember no steel dock boxes.
As we continue to upgrade the walkways on the rest of the docks, your personnel property will no longer be allow to encroach or be fastened to the main walks. This will help insure the safety of our members and guests and help to keep our insurance rates as low as possible. The lower our fixed costs the less the club will need to consider raising dues and fees.
By now you should have received your new slip contracts. Please note there is an additional clause included stating the requirements for the Clean Marina Initiative. Please read your agreement before you sign your contract. Please realize you are acknowledging compliance with the Clean Marina Initiative, and all policies and regulations contained in the contract. To renew your slip lease you must be a member in good standing (defined as no outstanding club balance older than 45 days), have your insurance documents, the Clean Marina Appendix signed and all slip rental fees paid as required in your lease. All the afor-mentioned documents also need to be on file with the Club Office. Failure to complete these requirements may result in you being denied access to your slip.
The slip change date is Saturday January 18th, 2014. (The deadline for change forms is 1/15.) After the exchange, any non-assigned slips will have new dock box brackets installed. There will be a $100.00 fee charged to the new slip tenant for those brackets. As slips are vacated they will also get new brackets and the new slip tenant will be assessed a $100.00 fee for those brackets. Again, your slip fee must be paid in full before you can occupy your slip.
To promote the safety and enjoyment of our members and guests current long-range plans call for all main dock walkways to be free of any intrusions. As the remainder of the walkways are repaired and resurfaced please note it will no longer be permitted to have steel dock boxes, or have your personnel property protrude onto the walkway . If you have one of these steel dock boxes please plan now to replace it with the four or six foot recommended fiberglass boxes.
Remember to plan now for the Annual Slip Change Meeting which will be January 18th 2014 at 0800.
