Peterson Jim 2014I have been appointed House Chairperson for 2014. Anyone having any concerns about anything to do with the House (bar, restaurant, lounge or the building), please contact me or Pat Nora.

There will be a House cleaning work party on Saturday January 4, 2014 at 9:00 am.  A good turnout will be needed to insure all items are taken care of. Please mark the date on your calendar. It is a good time to meet members and talk about the past and future boating season.

Notices for events at the club will be posted on bulletin boards which are reserved for club events only.

We have very limited room on our coat racks so items left on the coat racks for an extended period of time will be removed and eventually given to Goodwill if not claimed. Contact the office if you are missing an item.

If you are using the lounge area for drinks or food please dispose of your garbage items and return glasses and other items to the bar. This will make the tables available right away and help the bartenders give better service to everyone.

On Sundays, for the Packer games, members have been bringing food to share during the games. If you would like to partake in the “food share” please bring a dish to pass.

We are in need, periodically, for people with some kind of skills, access to equipment, or merchandise to help out at the Club. We also need people to just lend a hand. This is how we keep our membership dues low. It is also a great way to meet some of your fellow yacht club members. If you would like to help in a specific area, contact one of the committee chairpersons.

We had a couple of items that needed attention; an electrical issue which Mike Giannini took care of and Mike Wiedel helped with a fire door issue. Both saving the Club a good deal of money.

The SSYC letters and ships wheel were removed from the lakeside of the Club and will be refinished this winter by Mary Richter and Phyllis McDonald. After the Holidays they will refinish the ships wheel on the front doors.

The House Committee discussed E-Cigarettes and it was voted to include them with the ban on smoking the Club instituted on March 19, 2009. It was passed on to the Board which also voted to include them in the ban.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.
