The boating season has come to an end, and the process for closing the slips is underway. In order to insure a safe and orderly winterizing of Club slip facilities please remember the following is required of all slip tenants at the end of the season.  All appendices left attached to your finger pier must be above the lowest part of the pier structure.  All attachments on the center post must be completely removed. Slip lesseeā€™s who do not adhere to the above guidelines can face a $100.00 penalty, and your equipment removed and disposed of by slip committee personnel.  Please understand, for the prevention of winter ice damage, and the prevention of unnecessary repairs to club property, we need all slip tenants to be in compliance.

Water service to slip tenants is scheduled to be terminated on Saturday 26 October. If below freezing temperatures are expected sooner, please expect water service to be discontinued sooner, if it is deemed necessary to protect the club water system.

The slip closing work party is scheduled for the 2nd of November. We will need a large group of volunteers to complete all the projects planned for that day. We will be raising the wave boards in the horseshoe, and face docks, as well as removing ladders and the tender dock. We are also planning on replacing the rest of the dock boards on C dock and the face dock. This may turn into an all day (8 hr) work day.  If you can only help for half the day (4 hrs) we still need you. Thanks in advance for the help.

Some of you have asked about the permanent dock box bracket installation.  Installation will depend on scheduling around the volunteers availability and weather conditions.  Those members who have been informed of the bracket availability and have contacted me, left keys, or lock combinations, you will be able to leave your dock boxes on your slips. Committee members will remove your dock box, install the brackets and remount your dock box on the new brackets.

I continue to rely on a great group of volunteers. Thank you to all who continue to answer my calls for volunteer help.
