Haul-outs are nearly complete and we need to remind everyone about a few concerns. First and foremost be safe when working on and around your boat, tie off your ladder and don’t walk into trouble. Security is another, the drive-through gate if often open and we should be aware of non-members that may walk in, if someone doesn’t seem to ‘belong’ ask if you can help and last week the North gate was left open overnight, that’s an invitation for trouble. You should also keep the area around your boat clean, don’t litter and don’t leave beverage bottles and cups about.

Packers Sunday are in full swing and just as popular as ever. GM Pat Nora has great door prizes for every game and there’s always the volunteer food buffet. Which begs the question, what dish to share did you bring? At the Packers Cleveland game there were probably 70 – 80 persons enjoying the Packers win but the buffet was pretty sparse. It seems the same people are the only ones who bring food items for the enjoyment of all. It’s time for those who haven’t been contributing the tradition of our “bring a dish to pass” Packers Sundays to do so.

We continue to grow our Active membership. In October we added seven Active Members (and two Associate), unfortunately that number was countered with five resignations but we’ve now stand at 527. The goal was to reach 500 in 2013 and we’ve certainly bested that and in November we slated to add another dozen or so. Thanks to the program approved by you all for a limited reduction of the Initiation Fee by 50% and everyone recruiting friends and crew members to join our great organization we’re growing. Let’s get to full membership in 2014!
