GaleTomWelcome to fall fellow Yacht Club members, while it wasn’t the best summer of our lives “weather wise”, it was good while it lasted, and now Fall has hit with a vengeance.  Good thing our “Summer Parties” continue through the winter.  Last week we had the Change of Watch Party and it was great.  Unfortunately for most of you, it was sold out early and the majority of members didn’t make the cut.  I almost didn’t make the reservation list either, and I was the MC!  A word to the wise, our “Reservations Required”, should be taken seriously for future events.  Chef Sam’s reputation has gotten out and our parties are being “over subscribed”.  So with the Winner’s Dinner, Power Boaters   Ball, and Retro Party coming up, I’d make reservations as soon as the Club sends out the first e-mail blast.  Along those lines, keep that in mind when we announce we’re accepting reservations for the New Years Eve Party!  Are you getting my hint?

Well, the next party everyone can get into is our annual Halloween Party.   This has become a Super Seasonal major costumed event.  The place is wall to wall guests and everyone in the Club seems to stop in between other parties as well.  There will be costume contests for men, women, and couples, a fabulous band, great snacks, spooky drink specials, and all in a freaky, fun environment.  If you’ve been with us before, you know what I’m talking about.  If you’re one of our 75 new members, mark down Saturday October 26th.  There are Four “must attend” parties at SSYC, and Halloween is one of them.  I’d say “…see you there, but you won’t know me, I’m always in costume.”

Saturday November 30th, I’m doing another Karaoke show with some “All star” singers you’ve never heard before.  I think you’re going to be in for a treat.  I have over 100,000 songs in my music library, so I’m sure to have a song you can sing. And of course, it wouldn’t a SSYC Karaoke show without my co-host Bridget Lenz. Besides being a great singer, Bridget’s vast musical expertise is always there to help uncertain singers find the melody and get back on key. Hope to see you there as well.

We need some additional members to the Entertainment Committee. Our next meeting is Tuesday November 12th at 7pm at SSYC. Help plan some new events for 2014 including some exciting new “Children’s Events”!

Party on!
