There is a lot happening in the gardens starting in September.  The SSYC Auxiliary is replacing the Lannon stone wall on the southwest side of the club house.  The contractor will be starting on the final phase of the garden wall in the beginning of September.  When the project is complete the garden walls will all match.  As a result of this work being done, the garden committee is selling the current Lannon stone.  The contractor will put all of the stone on pallets in the skid lot.  Members may bid on the whole lot of Lannon stone .  The minimum bid is $500.00 and the proceeds from the sale of the Lannon stone will go back into plants and nursery stock for the gardens.  Too much Lannon stone for your project?  Get together with another member and share the bid and the stone.  The winning bidder will be responsible for moving the stone from the skid lot.  The club will load the skids onto your pick-up or trailer.  The deadline for bids is September 15th and they should be turned into the club office in an envelope addressed Attn: Garden Committee.

It’s not too early to begin thinking about this year’s Christmas tree for the holiday season.  The two Christmas trees on the north side of the club house have out-grown their locations.  They are available for bid starting at $40.00 each.  The trees will be cut for the winning bidders when they are ready to put them up for Christmas and to the height the winning bidder requests.  Nothing smells better than a fresh cut Christmas tree during the holidays!  You may bid on tree number 1 located on the northeast corner of the north garden, or tree number 2 located on the northwest corner of the north garden.  Or you may bid on both trees.  The deadline for bids is October 31st and they should be turned into the club office in an envelope addressed Attn: Garden Committee.  The proceeds from the sale of the Christmas trees will go toward the purchase of new nursery stock to replace them.
