Dock box brackets are in for tenants that are on the initial bracket list. If your name is one of the members on this list you will be contacted by phone to set an installation appointment. The new brackets will allow you to leave your dock boxes at your slip over the winter. If your slip has the new brackets you will also be permitted to leave items in your dock box over the winter storage period.

If you store your boat at SSYC and you do not have the new brackets, installed by the day slips are closed, a single dock box can be left under your boat in the storage yard. If you do not store your boat on the grounds, you may store your dock box on the grounds for a $50.00 fee. You must have your name and slip number on your dock box at the time it is stored. We have a few dock boxes from last year that we cannot determine who the owners are. These will be sold at our discretion if ownership cannot be determined by January 1st 2014.

Slip closing will be upon us in a very short time. Your slip lease states that everything below the bottom of your finger pier shall be raised above the lowest point on your finger pier Last year, because of the inclement weather we gave a two week grace period after the closing of the slips for tenants to clear the items from their slip and to raise the wave boards to the prescribed height. We also sent out special notices to the slip tenants, who the committee determined were not incompliance, with the rules. We do not anticipate repeating this policy.

Every year a very small number of tenants do not adhere to the policies in regards to the slip lease. After contacting tenants in violation, a few do rectify their violations. Many more did not rectify their discrepancies. A few complained after they were billed the $100.00 fee, as stated in their lease. Per your lease, all items in violation, as of the slip closing date shall be removed by the slip committee and disposed of at the discretion of the committee. The slip lease holder will be billed for all disposal cost incurred by the club. Adhering to the slip policies, as stated in your lease, makes closing of the slips a smooth process for all the parties.

If you encounter a problem with your slip, boards, lights, etc. PLEASE let the dock master know in writing. They will let me know and it will be taken care of, in a timely manor.

If you notice any person or vessels using club facilities, whom you may believe are not authorized, please notify the Dock Master, or any member of the club management. Please do not put yourself in a compromising position, let the club staff deal with the situation.

Thank you for your consideration in these matters.
