BergRussSeems like Fall, but it is July. Hopefully, Summer returns soon.

A great big “thank you” to George Grubner for running the SSYC/LMYA Open House on July 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. This event requires the participation of many volunteers who help with ice cream bucket sales, the auction, and other portions of this fund raiser. The event was a success, and the auction raised $1700.00.

Grill Your Own was held on July 11th run by the Lustigs and Wagners, who did a super job. The annual Burger and Brown Bag was held on the 18th of July. Our thanks go out to the Bluemners and Merryfields for running will event.

Unfortunately, The Great PS’R set to take place on Saturday, July 20th, was cancelled. Hopefully, there will be a greater interest in this event next year.

The Fish On/Fish Off set for July 27th was moved to Sunday, the 28th, because of the weather. George and Janet Artka helped make this event happen again this year.

Upcoming events include Thursday night, August 1st for another “Grill Your Own”. This event is being hosted by Dick and Nancy Grabowski. We will be selling New York Strip steaks at the club for a cost of $6.00 for six ounces, and $8.00 for 8 ounces. Call Russ by Wednesday at 414-397-4151 if you would like one of the New York Strips.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters is just around the corner on August 24th. Once again, Doug Reading is running this fund raiser. We are in need of boats and cooks to help make this another successful event.

If you have an interest in running an event or assisting our volunteers, please let me know. New ideas and improvements on our events are always welcome.

Hope you are enjoying the boating season and that everyone stays safe.

SailboatsIf you are interested in sailing, and more specifically racing, there are ample opportunities to join one of our racing fleets, or to crew on one of the boats in those fleets.  The women's fleet races on Mondays, small boats race on Tuesdays.  Big boats race on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  And the double handed fleet races on Fridays.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
