Congratulations to Commodore Cove server Gabrielle Glisch on being selected as the SSYC Employee of the Year. Gabrielle’s bright smile and cheerful presence made her an easy choice for this year’s honor. In addition to her name added to the plaque posted in the Clubhouse she will receive a cash award and her own plaque.
Have you noticed the antenna cluster on the north side roof of the Clubhouse? Additional WiFi antennas have been added making the signal more than twice as strong. There’s also a ‘whip’ antenna for the automated radio check transmitter located here at SSYC. Reminder to perform a radio check just switch to channel 27 and transmit, “Radio check, radio check” and within seconds (if your radio is working) you’ll hear an automated response from the Milwaukee Power and Sail Squadron and your voice broadcast back to you.
Here’s a real revelation, dogs can’t read but their owners should be able to both read and comprehend. Dogs are not permitted on the lawn on the lake side of the Clubhouse. That tiny island of grass has been a playground for generations of SSYC member children and grandchildren and a mess left by a dog does not present a healthy environment. Recently there have been several incidences of dog waste on the lawn. On page 30 of your SSYC Handbook the Refuse Rule plainly states that pets are to be exercised outside the Club grounds (for the purpose of this rule “exercise” includes body functions). Please be a good dog owner and walk you dog in the Club’s skid lot across the parking lot and plastic bags are available at the Dockmaster House.
