The first shipment of 100th Anniversary clothing has arrived and sales are brisk. Check out the selections that range from camouflage t-shirts to very upscale men’s and women’s polo shirts all with our anniversary logo. Sales will be held on weekends and other selected evenings.
Work continues on our Commemorative Book and plans are for a mid-year release date. This publication will be the only ‘official’ South Shore Yacht Club commemorative book.
Plans are being finalized for the Anniversary Party on May 18. It’s going to be a dress-up event but not formal. Upstairs Chef Sam will have a spread of ‘heavy hors d’oeuvres’ and GM Pat Nora is arranging a selection of wines for tasting. There’ll be a program and a video presentation. In the Lakeside Lounge, Entertainment Chairman Tom Gale has booked the band ‘Crocs’, a group that has played for us in the past.
Work will also start soon to install the commemorative bronze plaque at the Clubhouse’s front entrance. Vice Commodore George Artka and member Warren Kruse will head-up the project. While the work is in progress our front door will be obstructed and you’ll need to enter the Clubhouse through the South and North doors.
And for you folks who have procrastinated and missed the boat, we’ve made plans for a few additional photo mural tiles to be available. Don’t be left out this time, call Delaine in the Club Office for details today!
