Compass Nason BruceWe’re headed in the right direction and I’m optimistic the trend will continue. At the February Board of Directors meeting we voted in six new members and as of this writing we will vote on at least a dozen more at the March meeting. None of these new members are a result of the Milwaukee Boat Show booth we staffed. The plans now are to invite the nearly one hundred persons who filled out ‘contact cards’ as well as McKinley Marina members to an Open House on March 16th. We had some success with that event last year so I’m optimistic we have the same result again.

The volunteers who staffed the booth at the boat show did a great job in telling the SSYC story, thank you again. It’s something you have all heard many times in the recent past but YOU are our best recruiters and now with the Initiation Fee cut by 50% through the end of July it’s a great time to get your friends and crew members who may have been on the fence about joining to take that leap a become a member of the best darn yacht club on Lake Michigan.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

Powerboating

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
