DziubekKenGreat News!

Peter Engel has setup the Electronic Entry for the Queen’s Cup here https://www.ssyc.org/component/eventbooking/?task=individual_registration&event_id=8 and Peter was the first entry followed by several others. So it may be early but you can register for the 2013 75th Queen’s Cup Race right now.

The other Great News is that Ludington, the destination of the 75th Queen’s Cup, has plenty of deep water. The Ludington Municipal Marina will be dredged this spring to about 7 feet. The Ludington Waterfront Dock will have 12’ to16’ of depth for the first boat in. The second boat rafted out will have 20’ plus of depth. There should be no excuses for not stopping and enjoying the Ludington hospitality.

If you are considering entering the race this year you should look the SSYC webpage http://ssyc.org/queens-cup/queens-cup-home for entry form and information that might answer any questions that you may have. If you need any other questions answered please send an email  to

More Great News is that the South Shore Yacht Club has reduced the membership initiation fee from $850.00 to $425.00 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of South Shore Yacht Club. It is a great opportunity to start the South Shore Yacht Club experience.

Smooth Sailing and Great Dreams of the upcoming 2013 75th Queen’s Cup Race to Ludington,MI.

You can learn more about the various racing fleets by clicking here.  And the racing schedule (for all fleets) is available here.

PowerboatOur power boaters are active fishermen.  An annual fishing contest is held in July.

In addition, our power boaters host a number of events, usually on Thursdays as well as many weekends.
