How about this to cheer you up during the cold weather: spring is about eight weeks away! But in the meantime, here are some helpful hints:

Help1<-- Past Commodore Bob Aring (Bacchus) offers this timely tip for those cold nights…

Remember Milk of Magnesia? Here’s a great use: It will preserve a newspaper clipping. Grab a large bottle of club soda and a cup of milk of magnesia. Soak for 20 minutes and let dry. It’ll last for many years!

How many passwords do you have? Tons, right? Well, here’s the answer. Check out Last Pass at https://lastpass.com/. They say it’s the last password you’ll need to remember. Safe and secure and it’s free.

Help2<-- Pack your lunch? Here’s a great idea from Mary Emery (Meltdown). No need for a plastic bag (think green!) and the apple won’t turn brown. A double winner. Thanks, Mary.

Didja know that a non-stick cooking spray like Pam will remove paint and grease from your hands!  Keep a can in your garage or wherever you do painting projects.

Speaking of Pam, don’t forget to squirt a little on your shovel for instant snow “release.”

Help3<-- Next time you’re working on your boat and, uh-oh, you strip the screw, try a rubber band. Voila!

Wash your dishwasher? Why of course! Place a dishwasher-safe cup filled with plain white vinegar on the top rack of the dishwasher. Using the hottest water available, run the dishwasher through a cycle. The vinegar will help to wash away the loose, greasy grime, sanitize, and help remove any musty odor. Next, sprinkle a cupful of baking soda around the bottom of the tub and run it through a short cycle. The baking soda will help freshen and remove stains.... good to do every six months.

As always, keep your hints coming.
