GaleTom2012 – 2013

Well we just finished a fantastic party year in 2012 and we’re teaming up with the Power Boaters for 2013 to coordinate events with a joint meeting this Thursday, January 24th at 7pm. All are welcome. Our goal will be to stagger events so there’s always something to participate in, but not stacking three events in one week and then nothing for the next several.   PB Chair Russ Berg is anxious to start the process.

But, before moving to this year, I have to talk about our wonderful New Year’s Eve party. We had something like 125 people and had to do hors d’oeuvre’s and the cocktail hour in the lower lounge. It was fantastic. Then we moved upstairs to the dining room for a true ‘surf ‘n turf’, sliced tenderloin and lobster tail. It was amazing! A beautiful job by new Chef Sam and the entire wait and kitchen staff.   Like last year, we had a buffet of deserts in conference room for people to leisurely enjoy throughout the evening. Then it was back down to the lower lounge for dancing to ‘Ain’t Misbehaven. And again, like previous years, many, many SSYC members and their guests stopped by for beverage and a toast with good friends. The ladies were ‘dressed to the nines’ and many of the men were in black tie. It was really a classy evening with all the “Beautiful People” in attendance as shown in the attached pictures!

For 2013, our first event was the Chili Fest on Saturday January 19th.  Live music from Night Wing and a delicious array of chilies prepared by chef Sam, and the staff including SSYC Original Chili, Chicken Chili, Portobello Mushroom Chili, Chef Armando’s Pork Chili Verde and Owen’s Chocolate Chili. They were all Amazing, and how about that price, $5 for all you could eat.

The annual Super Bowl Party is Sunday evening starting at about 4:30pm. You won’t need to bring a “dish to pass”, but there will be a “slight” admission charge or $1 for SSYC “Chef prepared” spaghetti and Italian sausage. However, It would be nice if everyone brought a dessert to share. Your $1 will also give you a raffle ticket and a chance to win a number of great prizes including a 26” LCD TV! Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase if you’d like to increase you chances of winning!

GalesOn a more personal note,  I want to congratulate my beautiful wife Sharon Gale, who is this year's President of the SSYC Auxiliary.  Please join her the first Tuesday in February (and each month) with that fine, fun group at your club as well!

As always, please bring guests to these great SSYC parties. It’s the easiest way to attract new members.

We’re down 100 members. The 450 regular members need to recruit, and the 164+ Life members need to replace themselves with dues paying members as well.

One third of your members don’t own a boat. Don’t you know someone who would like to be a part of great Club with fun events all year?

Please bring a member prospect to one of our events. Thanks and keep up the FUN!
